FeTNA’s Commitment to Charitable Work
FeTNA has consistently prioritized giving back to the community through impactful charitable initiatives, responding to crises and promoting Tamil heritage. During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021, FeTNA organized critical fundraisers to support those in need. In 2021, FeTNA collaborated with organizations such as TNF, ATEA, IIT MAANA, and others to raise funds for oxygen concentrators, medications, and other vital supplies for Tamil Nadu. In 2020, FeTNA extended its support to struggling performing artists in Tamil Nadu whose livelihoods were devastated by the pandemic, demonstrating its commitment to preserving Tamil art and culture during challenging times.
FeTNA has also played a significant role in disaster relief efforts. In response to natural calamities like the Gaja Cyclone in 2018, Okhi Cyclone in 2019, and the devastating floods of 2016, FeTNA raised substantial funds to aid affected communities. These timely contributions, including $14,654 during the 2016 floods, provided relief and resources to help rebuild lives and livelihoods. By mobilizing resources and working with local partners, FeTNA has been able to make a meaningful impact during emergencies.
Beyond disaster relief, FeTNA actively supports cultural and educational initiatives that promote Tamil heritage. Over the years, it has funded Tamil literary and music events such as the Tamil Issai programs in Chennai and the Tamil Literary Garden, fostering the growth of Tamil arts and literature. FeTNA has also contributed to educational institutions like Thaai Tamil Palli and the American Tamil Academy, strengthening the foundation for Tamil language education globally. These charitable efforts reflect FeTNA’s unwavering dedication to uplifting the Tamil community and preserving its rich cultural legacy.
