About FeTNA
FeTNA, or the Federation of Tamil Sangams of North America, is an umbrella organization that connects various Tamil associations across North America. Its primary goals are to preserve and promote Tamil language, culture, and heritage among the Tamil diaspora. FeTNA organizes annual conventions, cultural events, and educational initiatives to foster a sense of community and support among Tamils living in North America.

What makes us different?
FeTNA stands out from other Tamil organizations due to its unique combination of cultural, educational, and community-driven initiatives, as well as its commitment to fostering global connectivity. Here are some key factors that differentiate FeTNA:
1. Comprehensive Cultural Promotion
FeTNA goes beyond hosting cultural events; it actively works to preserve and promote the full spectrum of Tamil heritage, including language, traditional arts, theater, music, and dance. FeTNA’s introduction of the Parai instrument, Tamil classical and folk dance forms, and martial arts like Silambattam reflect its dedication to nurturing Tamil culture across generations.
2. Focus on Education and Empowerment
FeTNA emphasizes the importance of education in both preserving Tamil heritage and supporting academic success. Through scholarships, college prep programs, and Tamil language certification initiatives, FeTNA fosters a culture of learning and empowers Tamil youth to excel in their studies while honoring their cultural roots.
3. Collaborative Community Approach
FeTNA is known for its collaborative spirit, working with numerous organizations and partners globally to maximize its impact. Whether raising funds for disaster relief or supporting local Tamil artists, FeTNA’s ability to unite multiple groups toward a common cause sets it apart as a bridge-builder within the Tamil diaspora.
